California prison officials are being investigated for allegedly staging “gladiator fights” between rival prison groups as a form of cruel and unusual punishment. On the fifth anniversary of the police murder of Mike Brown in Ferguson, racial tension and racist policing still dominate headlines. A mass ICE raid took place at Mississippi food plants, resulting in the arrests at least 680 people, leaving dozens of children without parents on the first day of school.
