Washington, D.C. | |  February 27, 2019 – ADC is proud to announce that the 2019 ‘Excellence in Advocacy’ Award will be presented to the Yemeni American Merchants Association  (YAMA), at Saturday’s Gala on  March 2, 2019, at 7:30 pm

The ‘Excellence in Advocacy’ Award is given to an organization that demonstrates outstanding community-based mobilization in pursuit of civil rights. ADC commends YAMA for its successful Yemeni Bodega Strike in New York in protest of Trump’s Travel Ban. YAMA’s work to empower community voices continues to make an impact every day. 

YAMA’s unwavering commitment and determination to promote justice and to protect civil rights inspires all Arab-Americans.
